Vietnam-war casualties anno 2016

While traveling trough Vietnam, I visited an orphanage in Hoi  An  and was overwhelmed by the number  of children   with disabilities living there.

Forty years after the Vietnam war came to an end,  children  continue  to  be  born  with deformities  due  to  the  effects  of Agent Orange, a  defoliant  that  contained a huge concentration of dioxin.
Agent  Orange  was  used by the Americans to make it  easier  to  find  and  attack their  Vietnamese   enemy  in the  jungle, but  the  'collateral'  damage  was colossal:  400 000 died, 500 000 were  born  with  disabilities, and there  is  an immense increase in cancer patients,diabetes,...
These pictures show the effect of the poison today,    in  2016,  in  a  randomly  picked orphanage in the country.
Let us not forget.
